A small museum that details the history of the fort from its early beginnings, through the civil war, its use as Jefferson Davis's prison for a couple of years, through its use up to and through World War I and II until it was decommissioned in 2011 and turned over to the park service.
This museum is fascinating, focusing on the Civil War and the history of Hampton and Norfolk, as well as what it was like living in the area prior to the Civil War. The Casemate Museum was also the location where Jefferson Davis was imprisoned following the Civil War.
