October is an amazing time to watch the salmon spawn. Bears hang out here too.

If you are coming to Tahoe to see the Salmon run in October this is the place where you need to go. The Rainbow Trail is what you'll look for- its the easiest trail ever! Go underground to see an upwards view of the stream and the salmon. Go at the beginning of October to catch all the action.

Great easy trail. Beautiful views of Mt. Tallac. Fun for everyone. Picnic tables on property for a fun picnic and trails that lead to the beach.

Open seasonally, ranger / visitor station. Get maps, talk to rangers about local hiking / backpacking trails. Nice paths and walk to beach.

The Taylor Creek Visitor Center is a great spot for short, leisurely hikes in nature, or down to the lake. The center features some beautiful views, nature education and lake access via one of two short trails. I highly recommend checking out the The Stream Profile Chamber.
