November 2021The host gave us incorrect check-in instructions, told us she was coming to give us the keys, then arrived and said her apartment was actually water damaged (which she had apparently known about for a week beforehand). She gave us the keycard for a hotel room—which said she had booked for 3 nights—but we found out the next morning that it was only booked for one night, so we had to check out immediately. Evelia said she was willing to refund us for the remaining two nights, but did nothing to respond to the request, even after multiple reminders.

October 2021Upon arriving to the air b n b at 10:40pm, the owner told me the apartment had been flooded for a week, that I could stay there, and that she had a room at a motel for my friend and I to stay at. She did not tell me in advance that I would not be staying at the air b n b, which she should have done. While it was nice she gave us a motel room, when asked to leave the motel, she said to leave the motel room key inside the room and she could come back to pick it up. This told me she has multiple room keys to the room which made myself and my friend who are young girls feel unsafe, on top that the motel room had no lock on the window. By no means was the motel clean, having hair on the bed and in the shower. There was an open soap bar on top of its wrapper. There was regular shampoo inside the shower, which made my friend and I feel like someone had slept in the room the night before and we were given the room key. Based on no notice and telling us on arrival, we should have gotten our money back from the air b n b. There should have been a minimum 24 hour notice, or since she had known the apartment had been flooding for a week she should have notified us then.
