There is trout fishing, game hunting, or perhaps a game of golf. Forgotten World Adventures, the towns newest tourist attraction, will take you on a picturesque journey over farm land and country side, unable to be visited by car, travelling along disused railway lines in a modified golf cart! Magical mid-century home

Hautawa was designed by well-known Wellington architect Sir Michael Fowler for my great grandparents Sir Thomas & Lady Duncan in the 1950s. Sir Thomas & Lady Duncan were recognised for their philanthropy toward polio victims in the 1940s. At the time the house was designed with no expense-spared and had all the mod-cons. It’s a very early example of Sir Michael Fowler’s architectural work, but a treasure for any mid-century architecture lover.
