Country Retreat - Tranquility in Mid-Coast Maine

A beautiful, peaceful, 2nd floor space to slow down and recharge. Light-filled, open concept, sleeps 4. With many hiking trails, lakes, streams, and ponds nearby. You'll be only a 2 minute walk to the most peaceful of them all: Stevens Pond, for swimming and a tranquil paddle. There is no plumbing but there is a composting toilet in what would be the bathroom. I provide plenty of fresh water for drinking, coffee, tea, washing up, dishes, and sola shower. AC, fans, kayaks provided.

It is located just 2/10 of a mile from the village center where the general store, library and town offices are located. Easy commute east to the coast and the must-see towns of Rockland, Rockport and Camden or west to our capitol, Augusta. One hour and forty minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia national park.

Lazy Days Cozy Camp

A quaint little riverside camp on a section of St. George Lake In Liberty, Maine. The camp has a charming kitchen with big kitchen attitude(no dishwasher), dining area, and a connected living room. Additionally, the screened porch allows for a bug free, outdoor feel for coffee in the morning, a place to read a book and lounge. This cottage sleeps 4 people comfortably in two bedrooms and a pull out couch in the living room for another to sleep. There are two kayaks available to use.

Halcyon Ridge

Halcyon Ridge is owned by Lynn and Chuck Hadyniak, who live near the Halcyon Ridge property. Lynn and Chuck moved out of New Jersey years ago to get away from the hustle and bustle and raise a family in peace. They love Freedom for its quietness and natural beauty, and would love to host people at Halcyon Ridge who also want to escape the noise. Stargazers will be delighted: low humidity, expansive view of the southeastern sky, and next to no light pollution make for wonderful viewing.

The Barn

I call my place "The Barn" because as I was finishing it it took the shape and feel of a barn. It's not a barn. It's a quiet post and beam open concept building (a Jamaica Cottages kit) set among the fields of Appleton, Maine. You'll sleep in the loft or on a futon on the main floor. The bathroom is huge, 10X10, with a heated floor. It's an open concept kitchen and living space. From Appleton you are 20 miles away from the tourist destinations of Camden, Rockland, and Belfast.

Woodland Cabin with Pond Frontage

10x12' cabin has a queen sized bed in a sleeping loft is just a five minute walk from the Pond . Absolute privacy in a woodland setting . Our pond 650’ of pond frontage is shared with no one else. You will be the only ones with access to it. Off grid , no running water. We provide 5 gallons outside for dishes, and 2 gallons inside for cooking. Bring your own cooler. . Solar powered led lights inside , Primitive composting toilet is located in an outhouse.

Birch Hill Cabin w/Hot Tub

Birch Hill Cabin is set on the side of a hill, surrounded by almost 8 acres of woods. The cabin is 288 square feet, and the bathroom is detached and located approximately 20 feet from the cabin. A hot tub is conveniently located off the deck for ultimate relaxation! This cabin is tucked away, surrounded by nature! But also conveniently located to so many wonderful spots in the Midcoast! Come enjoy the peace and quiet, where you can rest and recharge!

Our secluded, very quiet and private two bedroom cabin with loft features a bug-free screened-in porch on its large deck. The cabin overlooks peaceul Sandy Pond, inhabited by bald eagles, loons, and herons. Watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets, fish and kayak from our dock. We're close to coastal Belfast, Unity, MOFGA (annual Common Ground Fair), Waterville, Acadia and Camden. Eat at The Lost Kitchen, visit the Amish, hike the Hills to Sea Trail.
