Ohope - voted NZs favourite beach - great swimming, lovely walks close by or simply walk down the beach and enjoy the salt air. Close to Whakatane - a great little town with boutique shopping and dining venues. Come and relax or take the opportunity to do charter fishing or trip to White Island. ENJOY!

With uninterrupted views across the river to the beach cliffs, our freshly presented Kiwi bach is perfect for families wanting some rest and relaxation. At the end of a no-through road, this family home offers low-key accommodation for small or large groups. Easy stroll to the river, shops & cafes. Five-minute drive to the Wharf or Blue Waters beaches. Please note that it's not possible to walk to the beach you see from the front deck - there's a lot of scrub and a tidal river in the way!

Historic Places Trust in coastal Maori village

Te Poutapeta is a Historic Places Trust listed building. Up until the 1980s it served as the community Post Office. Our family run it as a B&B or Holiday House. Guests have the entire house at their disposable. We provide continental breakfast. The Post Office is a one minute walk to our long and expansive beach. You’ll love our Poutapeta for its history, spaciousness and comfort. We have attempted to retain its origingal character. It is relaxing and unspoilt. Nau mai, haramai!

Pick yourself up a famous paua pie from Cafe 35, pour yourself a cold one and sit back on the deck to watch the sea and sky change from blue to purple to pink to orange. Activities - swimming, surfing, fishing, yachting, kayaking, golfing... or just chilling out. 5 minute walk to cafe and boutique shops including an art/craft gallery. 10 minutes drive to Whakatane. An amazing coastal walkway very close.

Tokomaru Beach

Our place is newly built, behind a historic building, only metres from the beautiful Tokomaru Bay Beach. The facilities are all modern, with heat pump/air conditioning, acomodating 4 people with style, comfort and ease. One queen bed is in the lounge as a pull down/retractable and the second in a separate bedroom. Shower and toilet is an ensuite shared by all guests but accessed through the bedroom.

Stunning views of Whale Island and the beach which is only a 1 min walk. A stones throw from the Ohope beach Tavern, Medical centre/ Pharmacy, Coffee cart playground.. handy to the local shops and everything else Ohope has to offer!
