We are an urban homestead complete with a permaculture-inspired garden, chickens, and bees we invite you to enjoy. We provide our guests with eggs, milk, coffee, tea, pastries and fruit. All our cleaning products are non-toxic. The Arcata Community forest where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll or an active long run is just down the street. Our home is close to the beach, downtown Arcata, and Humboldt State University. You’ll love our location, your hosts, the views, and our garden.

Our restored, historic cottage is at the center of our vibrant community. Just two blocks from the Plaza and in close walking distance (5 minutes or less) to the best farmers' market, grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, a creperie, an excellent independent movie theater, an art store, record and book stores, and within a 10-15 minute walk to Redwood Park and the Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary. Rock Rose Cottage, Cozy & Peaceful

THE HOUSE The cottage sits in a peaceful residential neighbor hood a stones throw from the cliffs of moonstone beach, perfect for those seeking a still, quiet location that is just minutes from the beach including a vigorous hike down from the cottage to the ocean along a public road. A highly intentional space, created to accommodate restoration on a cellular level. Foraged antiques and modern amenities make the Rock Rose Cottage feel both cozy and restoring.

Redwood Grove Cottage

Charming, affordable house all to yourself set in a small redwood grove. Nearest neighbor 200ft away through forest. 15 min walk to Trinidad on a country lane. Queen bed in master, comfortable twin bunk beds in tiny second bedroom (adults ok in bunks if less than ~180lb). Bonus playroom/office. Well-stocked kitchen and laundry. Level 2 electric car charging outlet (NEMA 14-50). Well behaved pets ok.

Private 2-Room Coastal Suite

Come to the cool coast to enjoy this separate, private space. Check yourself in whenever you like via your own entrance. Vaulted ceilings, a romantic gas fireplace, remote work desk with strong wi-f and a kitchen. Your private yard includes a hot tub and lovely landscaping. From here you can easily access the redwoods, the beach or town - create your own colorful Humboldt experience.

Little Buttermilk Cottage

Our renovated, quaint, studio cottage is a 10 minute walk to the Redwoods, 5 minutes to shops and a short drive to the beach. Little Buttermilk Cottage is nestled in a private garden setting in the quiet neighborhood of Sunny Brae. Tidy Tiny Home in Peaceful Place

You’ll love your escape to our tiny house! (387 square feet of main floor space plus loft). It is a modern, clean, secluded retreat located in a forested area of a quiet neighborhood between Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata and scenic coastlines and majestic redwoods. 2025 update: all new staircase for easier access to the loft.

Sylvan Harbor Cabin 2

Built in the 1940s, Cabin 2 has been modestly updated but maintains a rustic, rough-around-the-edges feel. With all the essentials for an extended stay, it is cozy, clean and functional providing a nice, quiet base for relaxing and enjoying the local beauty.
