Creekside Forest Nature Retreat : Mongolian Yurt

Wake up to birds singing! Enjoy 55 private, peaceful acres with abundant forest wildlife. Hawks, owls, deer and more! Our Mongolian-style yurt is 200 sq. feet with a full bed, solar shower(summer), pop-up private flushing poddie, hammock, fan, lights, wood stove (winter), grill and fire pit. Optional packages include, Farm to table Cornish Hen dinner delivered ($44), S'mores $12, extra firewood ($10), one hour farm tour ($49) which includes feeding cows, holding chickens and visiting our apiary.

The Yurt at Solar Solitude sits on 8.4 acres, which are all available for exploring. The adjacent George Washington National Forest is ideal for hiking, Lost River State Park is just minutes away. Sit in the living room and enjoy the quiet beauty of nature while feeling the warmth from the wood sgaze up at the stars WIFI works well. it’s a clamping experience so the air conditioner won’t really do much in the heat of summer so I recommend you plan day trips during the heat of the summer.

Yurt in the woods - 15 min. to Staunton & Polyface

Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Large deck where you can eat, drink, see the trees, and hear the little Middle River rolling by. The yurt is large (for a yurt!) - 30' wide with a small but full kitchen. There's a new queen bed in the main living area, a double bed in a small bedroom, and a queen mattress in the loft. The mini-split for AC and heat works well but the loft can still get very warm when it's really hot out. Cell phones work, but there is no internet or TV.

If you like camping and nature you’ll enjoy this off-grid getaway! Our Yome is a Dome style frame structured tent on wooded deck. The entrance is a window door with an elevated forest view. Sit on the porch and listen to the rushing of the nearby creek. Day hike our wooded 70 private acres, with pastured chickens for fresh egg breakfast optional extra fee. Bring your own outdoor grill or camp stove for cookout. Wood stove inside for cold weather warmth. Cut dry wood provided extra fee.
