The Hiwassee also is known for some great Trout fishing. If you are more into riding adventures, the Tail of the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway are also a close, gorgeous drive away. We are located about 10 miles south of Tellico Plains, Tn on New Hwy 68 in the quiet little town of Coker Creek. The gateway to the Cherokee National Forest and the Cherohala Skyway mountain range. A short drive to the 100' Bald River Falls on the world famous Tellico River, which is great for fly fishing or white water rafting. Located in the mountains on just under 20 acres where you can hike, ride your toys or horseback ride the Benton Mackaye trail through the mountain range.

Mamaw and Papaw's is not your average home in the national forest. When you visit, you'll feel transported back in time to a place of comfort, love, and joy through the collection of creature comforts from our parents and our grandparents. Mamaw and Papaw's is a quiet, peaceful and comfortable place to rest, work, and play. We are a growing homestead with work in progress spaces, like a vegetable garden. Come and sit on the porch and watch the season's blooms.

Ayuwasi House at Spring Creek Retreat

This two-story home is located at Spring Creek Retreat surrounded by a native plant meadow, wooded hills, and a white water creek. The name of this house is Ayuwasi House, a Cherokee word that means meadow at the base of a cliff. This house was fully remodeled December 2020-March 2021. It has its own access to the creek.
