Modern Japanese Farmhouse Experience

Renovated traditional Japanese farmhouse with a great view of Minami Alps and a stretch of rice fields and forests in front. On the foothills of Yatsugatake Mt. Ideal retreat for Tokyoites who want to enjoy country living in a quiet, beautiful setting. Enjoy nearby trails, walks, and cooking in a spacious kitchen/dining area with family, as well as a woodstove to keep warm. Kamesei Ryokan is a family-run traditional onsen inn with mostly warm wood construction and gardens throughout. We are an American-Japanese couple that are happy to share our onsen town Togura-Kamiyamada with visitors curious about the Japanese countryside. You can relax wearing yukata robes in your private tatami mat rooms and enjoy the hot spring mineral baths rich in sulfur content. (The onsen baths are tattoo-friendly.) Our chef's creative kaiseki-style dinners are highly recommended.
