Blue Lake Sanctuary

Surrounded by pastures, it's a short walk to the Mad River for swims and walks. The Mad River Brewery is less than a mile up the road. Excellent mountain biking is 1 mile away. In a 15 minute drive you can find the hip town of Arcata, surrounded by redwoods and hiking as well as a majestic coastline. Sundays 10 am to noon we host a family friendly ecstatic dance in the studio adjacent to the apartment. Expect music at that time. Come join us! Public Yoga classes are Tuesday & Saturday am.

The Surf Sanctuary retreat is minutes away from remote beaches and redwoods. Please note: Redwood Park is 30 minutes away, not 1 hour. The sanctuary is a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom guest house with a full kitchen and bathroom. We are located within a 5 minute drive to the beach, and 30 minutes away from Redwood State and National Parks. Perfect launch location for hiking, surfing, cycling and enjoying this amazing place. Enjoy our beautiful quiet space for relaxation and renewal.

The apartment is accessed via a separate private entrance on the ground floor.. This private space is ideal as a home base for exploring the amazing Redwood Coast. The spacious yard with play equipment makes it a fun stay for families and the well appointed interior is comfortable for visiting professionals.

Conveniently located in downtown Arcata, a short walk to shopping, the Plaza, farmers' market, CalPoly Humboldt, restaurants & bars. This elegantly furnished home has queen beds in all three bedrooms, new high-end cookware and appliances and a private fenced backyard with a new hot tub. Come and enjoy this quiet neighborhood with your family or friends for your next stay in Arcata. We pride ourselves in making your stay as pleasing as possible.

Tent, q-sized inflated bed, showers, ocean 1 mile

A roomy tent w/queen-sized inflated bed, firepit/free wood, picnic table, propane heat if needed ($8 ). You should plan on bringing your own bedding: pillows, towels, sleeping bags, etc. We have provided this in the past, but electricity costs are so high (washing, drying) that we can no longer afford to do so. If you need bedding, we will provide it, but you will be charged an extra $25 (flat fee).
