We’ll continue with a walk by the Metallic Building, then on to Spain Park for a fantastic view of the Yellow House. We'll be spending the rest of the evening at a favorite dinner at a farm to table private home dinning. I'll handle everything from picking you up from your hotel (whether you're in San Jose, Heredia, or Alajuela) to securing your tickets for the volcano, leaving you free to simply book the experience and relish the trip. During our journey to the volcano, we'll make several stops to immerse ourselves in the local culture. We’ll go to the cloud-forest in the mountains of Heredia on a LEVEL 3** hike that features a beautiful waterfall and amazing landscapes. We’ll meet in Heredia city center and drive to a Protected Area where we’ll trek through a recovered cloud-forest with exuberant vegetation and lesser fauna. We’ll visit a waterfall and if you’re up for it, swim in the pure, chill, mountain water! After exploring the upper layers of the forest from atop a lookout point, we’ll head back to town to recover and enjoy a "casado" in a typical lunch PLEASE READ THESE FACTS ATTENTIVELY ** ¨Level 3 hike¨ means: 3 out of 10 in difficulty. A ninety minutes hike with good inclines, some stamina is required. Our tour is a visit to the farm, guided by the farmer (Jose, Antony or Ivette) walk around the coffee field, it is not a very long walk but you will get to know the coffee plants, how we plant them, how we harvest, the way we select the fruits we pick and the way we farm trying to do it in harmony with nature. We also show you how we process and sundry the coffee, the roasting and all the steps we have to follow to be able to have a good cup of coffee. Finally we will try the different coffees and also products made with the coffee fruit. Note that the walk to the fields can be muddy and slippery during the rainy season. The tour can be in Spanish or English. El tour consiste en una visita a la finca, guiada por el agricultor (Jose, Anthony o Ivette) no es una caminata muy larga pero se pueden conocer las plantas de cafe desde como se siembran y se cuidan, como se recolecta el cafe y nuestra forma de trabajar la tierra en armonia con la natrualeza. It is going to be a gastronomic and cultural Costa Rican experience. The experience will start taking you to the local farmer market to choose some of the seasonal ingredients of the recipe we are going to prepare. After that, we will try your culinary skills and proceed to cook the main course. The dishes will be based on Costa Rica traditional spices. We will cook up the popular ¨casado¨, which consist of rice, beans, chopped vegetables, salad, a natural refreshment and baked sweet plantain with cinnamon and vanilla, as dessert. While you will be learning the recipes, you will share time with our family and learn more from our country and culture in a memorable way. Note: Available for lunch or dinner. Hi, thank you for being interested in my experience! If you come to my studio you will have the opportunity to create your own ceramic souvenir to remember your trip! Imagine yourself drinking a delicious coffee in a mug that you made using Costa Rican clay and glazes that I produce by my own with local materials that are collected in a sustainable way. In this experience you will have fun exploring the basics of ceramics! I will share with you everything I know as ceramicist. This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as those with prior ceramic experience. What I can do in this workshop? Well, I will teach you all the techniques of ceramics and how to finish a ceramic object from clay to bisque and glaze. You can create your own pieces using all the knowledge learned in the class and use our own underglazes or engobes that I produce here in Costa Rica with local raw materials. The most popular pieces made in the workshop are ashtrays, bowls, p¡pes, mugs, plates and animal sculptures . All the groups will be kept small, lighthearted and most importantly fun!
