Slow down and reconnect with nature, overlooking the Vale of Avalon, 8 miles from Glastonbury. Your own private acre of secluded pasture at the edge of a farming village. An oasis for wildlife, wildflower meadow, small coppice, orchard, herb beds. Enclosed by mature trees, the entire field is your own private space with exclusive use of composting toilet and wood fired shower/bath house. Well behaved dogs welcome and children aged 12 and over as extra guests. Not suitable for younger children.

Indawo
A spacious beautiful 18ft, locally made Ash yurt. Cosy at night, with 5kw hand crafted windy smithy woodburner. Efficient 12v solar lighting system and usb charging points for two mobile phones.

King sized bed, duck down duvet and pillows and a double futon if needed for additional guests. I provide bedding, towels, kitchen equipment, gas hob, a large basket of logs, eco cleaning products etc.

Private cedarwood bathhouse with woodfired shower. Please bear in mind that this uses harvested rainwater so waterpressure is low. The boiler takes around 40 mins of the fire burning to heat. I provide you with plenty of drinking and washing water.

Outdoor firepit with tripod and cast iron cooking options , dutch oven, skillet etc if you prefer to cook out on a fire or inside there is a 2 ring gas hob.
No light polulution at night and you are likely to be serenaded by owls.

The site is on the east of High Ham, a high ridge above the vale of avalon. There is no risk of flooding and the mature trees and hedges protect the site from wind.

Private yoga sessions can be prior arranged either in the meadow or socially distanced in the yoga barn. Message for details.

This is a truely magical place to retreat into nature with a special energy.

Apho uza kuba khona

Somerset, England, United Kingdom

Pitney has an organic farm shop and cafe. The small town of Langport offers interesting shops, cafes, River Parrat boat/bike/stand up board/kayak hire. Nearby are the RSPB reserves Ham Wall and Westhay and Avalon Marsh Centre. Glastonbury has many tourist attractions including the Abbey, Tor, Challice Well and White Temple Springs as well as a myriad of unusual shops, pubs and cafes . There are beautiful National Trust properties a short drive away as well as Muchelney Abbey, The Newt, and Wells Catherdral.
Burrow Mump and Burrow Hill/Cider are interesting landmarks to visit and the drive across the levels into Muchelney often offers views of swans on the floodplains.
The Halfway House in Pitney, 3 miles away does great food. Also try The Firehouse in Cury Rival, they also do excellent take aways .
The area is very rural, you need a vehicle. High Ham is situated on a ridge with fantastic views of the Somerset levels and there are nice walks locally, particularly at the National Trusts Turn Hill/Aller woods, include a visit to a Bere Cider. There are nice wild swimming or paddle board options at Huish Bridge just before Muchelney.

You are welcome to self check in. I am a phone call away during your stay and will on some days be working on the flower growing area at the top of the meadow.
