If you want to contact a host before booking a reservation, send them a message on Airbnb. Once your reservation is confirmed, you can message or call the host to communicate with them until the trip has ended.
Before booking a reservation
If you want to find out more about a listing, host, or experience before booking, you can message the host on Airbnb. Make sure to review the listing page or experience description to clarify anything you need from the host.
To message a host before making a reservation:
- Log in to your account and go to the listing for the host you want to contact.
- If you want to ask about specific reservation details, enter the dates and number of guests for your trip (you can adjust this information before booking).
- Click or tap Contact host on the listing page.
- On the next page, check out the information under What to expect from your stay. If you still want to contact your host, click or tap the Message button.
For your safety and privacy, you can’t call hosts before your request is accepted. Learn more about why it’s good to keep communication and transactions on Airbnb.
After your trip or experience is confirmed
If you have an accepted reservation or confirmed experience, you can reach the host by going to Trips, finding the reservation, and contacting the host from there.
You'll find the host’s phone number in the message thread for your trip, where you can also continue to send messages.
After your trip or experience
Note: You can send 25 messages per day or 10 messages per hour. Additional guests can’t message hosts through your message thread.
